Londoner Kate Nash has announced a short UK tour to coincide with the release of her second album. The Foundations singer has revealed a change in direction to a girl group pop sound, with her biggest influence being Diana Ross and the Supremes.

Kate Nash’s second album will be called My Best Friend Is You, and is released on 19th April 2010. She tours in support of it on the following UK dates:

Jerusalem tickets available from just £21

Hole add further UK date due to demand

Infamous California rock band Hole have booked an additional date to their UK tour after demand for the newly reformed group’s gigs proved to be even larger than expected!

They will now play Manchester Academy on May 7th and fans can look forward to being amongst the first to hear live renditions of songs from forthcoming album Nobody’s Daughter, as well as some classic tracks from the days of Live Through This and Celebrity Skin. The band now features ex-Larrikin Love guitarist Micko Larkin amongst its reshuffled lineup, but core member Courtney Love has remained throughout Hole’s chequered history and her trademark snarling voice ensures for a brilliant live performance. Latitude Festival has released details of many of the acts to play at the 2010 event, to take place in Henham Park, near Southwold in Suffolk from Thursday 15th July until Sunday 18th July 2010. The event will be headlined by Florence and the Machine, Belle and Sebastian and Vampire Weekend, with other bands such as Empire Of The Sun, The Maccabees, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Charlotte Gainsbourg, The National, The Horrors, The xx and Grizzly Bear to perform.

New acts confirmed for Great Escape festival

A host of names have been added to the line-up for this year’s Great Escape festival in Brighton. Band of Skulls, Wild Beasts, Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, Gold Panda and Lonelady have all been confirmed to play at the event.

PSV suffer shock defeat ahead of visit to Ajax

PSV suffered a shock defeat at the hands of NAC Breda this past Saturday, leaving the Eredivisie title race wide open. The Eindhoven side threw away a one-goal lead to lose the game 2-1, as well as losing their position at the top of the table. FC Twente’s 1-0 victory away at RKC Waalwijk means that they now occupy the top spot, and with Ajax winning convincingly against Sparta Rotterdam, there are only a few points separating the teams at the summit.

The title shake-up comes just in time for this weekend’s mouth-watering Ajax vs PSV clash, of which tickets are still available to compare and buy here at Tixdaq.com. Ajax are now trailing their bitter rivals by only four points, with both teams’ title aspirations meaning that this weekend’s game is a must-win.

Bayern machine rolls on

It is difficult to avoid stereotypes of German efficiency when it comes to Bayern Munchen, typically known as Bayern Munich in the UK, but this year the Bavarian side are playing an attractive free-flowing game to complement their naturally ruthless streak. Bayern seem to challenge for honours every season, and also have a strong production line of talent constantly emerging from their academy that is the envy of many Premier League sides. Goalkeeper Michael Rensing and midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Müller are all home-grown players that slot in seamlessly alongside international stars Miroslav Klose, Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

After a disappointing start to the season, Bayern Munchen have recaptured their cutting edge, and between 29th November 2009 and 13th February 2010 they won nine straight matches – scoring an average of over three goals a game. They first gained the top spot in the Bundesliga after 18 matches had been played, and since then have only relinquished it for two weeks before regaining the lead.

The challengers to Bayern’s throne are numerous, for the title race in Germany is more open than most European leagues. Over the last ten years, Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg have been worthy champions. This season, the nearest contenders are Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen, who are 2 and 3 points adrift respectively. With games against both to come as the Bundesliga reaches its climax, the big matches look set to decide the recipient of the title.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg are looking to improve their disappointing league campaign with a recovery from mid-table. The Lower Saxony club won the Bundesliga title in the 2008-2009 with the help of their brilliant strikeforce of Grafite and the much sought-after Bosnian, Edin Dzeko. If Wolfsburg’s season is underwhelming Hertha Berlin’s is quite disastrous. After finishing a very credible fourth in last season, they currently rest at the foot of the table with just 15 points from 25 games – a points-to-games ratio that is worse than Premier League strugglers Portsmouth.

Real Madrid move top as Barcelona slip up

Real Madrid moved to the top of La Liga on goal difference at the weekend after a thrilling victory against Sevilla. The Bernabeu faithful witnessed their side overcome a two-goal deficit to win the game 3-2 thanks to Rafael Van Der Vaart’s desperate injury time winner.

Real Madrid would have been inspired to hear of Barcelona’s earlier stumble, with the Catalan giants drawing 2-2 with Almeria and relying on Argentine star Lionel Messi to score twice in order to salvage a point.

This weekend, in a title race that is fascinating football fans from all over the world, Real travel to lowly Valladolid whilst Barcelona host Valencia, who’s own title dreams appear to be well and truly over, thanks to a frustrating goalless draw with Racing Santander on Monday night. The tension at the top of the table is making for an irresistible El Clásico clash next month, and Tixdaq.com can reveal that tickets are still available for one of the most eagerly anticipated clashes in the football calendar.

Can Inter be overhauled in Serie A title race?

Inter Milan have seemed to be an unstoppable force under Jose Mourinho. Like the Special One’s Chelsea side, the Nerazzurri seem to have a habit of doing just enough to win each match. However, recently Inter have struggled to find that cutting edge in their play, and have drawn four of their last five matches. Three of those four draws have been 0-0 as opponents have managed to shut Inter out.

Although AC Milan lost to Inter on January 24th, since then they have picked up 13 points to Inter’s 10 and have closed the gap at the top of the table to just four points. Both sides have the distraction of Champions League football to worry about, but with AC Milan conceding three goals to Manchester United they are certainly not favourites to progress. Inter have a tough task at Chelsea, but at least Mourinho has a slender 2-1 lead to defend at his old stomping ground of Stamford Bridge. “Mourinho does not lose at Stamford Bridge” said the Inter boss, referring to his tenure in charge of Chelsea when he never lost a home game.

At this stage of the season, much comes down to a team’s mentality in the face of adversity. If, as expected, AC Milan are knocked out of the Champions League, their only focus would be the league – having been eliminated from the Italian Cup at the quarter final stage. It is a fascinating battle and at present it is impossible to tell whether Milan’s red or blue half will be celebrating come the end of the season, or indeed if Roma, seven points behind could make a breathtaking comeback.

Other battles underway include Juventus’ challenge for the elusive fourth Champions League spot – they are two points behind current occupants Palermo, and Fiorentina’s desperate struggle to get into any European slot after doing so well last year. The Viola are still in the Champions League, but it looks like winning the competition will be their only chance of gaining a place in next year’s tournament.

Fulham fixture list crowding up

Fulham have had another excellent season under manager Roy Hodgson, and recently knocked holders Shakhtar Donetsk out of the UEFA Europa League. The next three weeks are a critical period for the West London side with a mammoth schedule making fatigue a very real danger. The Cottagers must play seven games between now and April 2nd, including matches against Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Juventus (twice).

Further success in both FA Cup and UEFA Europa League could adversely affect Fulham’s league form, or galvanise it, but with so many games to come for the small squad, the rest of March could decide their season.

When the fixture list was announced it was clear that Manchester United vs. Chelsea on April 3rd 2010 was a huge tie. However, it is now apparent that it would be no hyperbole to label this match the biggest Premier League game so far; the Barclays Premier League title is at stake.

The top two teams in the league face each other in less than a month, with the victor to surely become favourites for the domestic crown. It has been a topsy-turvy season with only one constant: its unpredictability. Many tipped Liverpool for the title but they are firmly locked in a battle for fourth, with Manchester City, Tottenham and Aston Villa all with points advantage or games in hand.

Many thought Arsenal would fall away as in previous years, particularly after Aaron Ramsey’s broken leg echoed memories of Eduardo’s similar injury in 2008. That year, the Gunners crumbled quite dramatically, but in the last month they have clawed back Chelsea’s nine point advantage to level with them, and are just two points behind Manchester United. A draw between the Red Devils and Chelsea could lead to Arsenal sneaking to the title as they have on paper the easiest remaining fixtures.

With so many matches in this Premier League season going against form, it is impossible to predict the final outcome, and that is why it is the most captivating in recent memory.

Girls like it and it gets them up dancing. Pete seems like a nice guy and maybe, with the right remix, we can get him a number one in the US as well as Europe this time.”

Pendulum to headline Clash Arena at RockNess

Pendulum have been confirmed as the Friday night headliners in the Clash Arena at this year’s RockNess festival. The Aussie ravers have been announced as the latest big-name act at this summer’s event in Clune Farm, Inverness.

Aerosmith have announced a special performance at London’s O2 Arena this summer. Steven Tyler and his band are set to play at the Greenwich venue on June 15, playing as part of their ‘Cocked, Loaded, Ready to Rock’ 2010 tour. The frontman said that the new date was due to massive demand for the US rockers after it was announced they were headlining this year’s Download Festival. Tyler, tongue firmly-in-cheek, said: ‘Back by popular demand with more spit and fire than ever before, we’re coming across the pond and parting the waters as we go.’

Although doubts were expressed about the future of frontman Steven Tyler, it has been confirmed that the charismatic singer will lead the band at the show.
